Overview & Reviews
In an attempt to revive Monte Carlo's performance image, Chevrolet adds a supercharged SS version for 2004. The LS gets new 17-inch aluminum wheels, and there are a couple new appearance packages, Sport and Winner's Circle, available on the LS and non-supercharged SS.
- Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
- Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

Return os the SS - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By bcayton - March 21 - 2:00 pmI have always loved performance cars, but since the late 70s "performance" wasnt affordable..Then I drove a 2004 Dale Earnhardt Jr. signature series, supercharged Monte Carlo SS. Chevy has hit a home run with this one. Welcome back SS.

Engine light delayed and cost me a new engine - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By chaleena - December 27 - 11:42 amI was happy with my 2004 Monte Carlo. The back seat is a real pain getting in and out of though. My big complaint is I have 161K miles on it. Always maintained on schedule. Suddenly it started acting up and I made an appointment for my mechanics to check it out. A few days before the appointment the engine light went on and I took it in immediately! Well..engine light should have gone on several days prior when it was acting up. It did not! Now it needs a new engine! The engine light was lazy and it is costing me. This has ruined my belief in American made cars!

monte carlo supercharged ss - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By joe - November 14 - 10:00 amits a good looking car and it is fun to drive. it holds up well and although it is a big car with the supercharged ss it gives you alot of power to manuver through traffic and its faarely wide body does not allow alot of body roll. all-in-all its a great car to drive.

Never Again. - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By am12 - September 10 - 4:34 amI would never buy a Monte Carlo again. I love my car but I have had it for almost 3 years and have had nothing but problems. I am having to get my roters changed CONSTANTLY. If not, and I am on interstate and slowing down to get on the off ramp, it shakes horribly. Anyone else? Then sometimes when I turn real sharp, it makes a screeching noise and sounds like my power steering is going to go out. Now recently, it has been leaking antifreeze and overheating. I talked to a dealer and he, himself even said they are nice cars, but have many mechanical problems.

Great Car - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By CL Watkins - July 1 - 9:00 pmI bought mine a SS Superchaged black on black w/ everything but the XM, which I added myself later in May 2004. It was actually hidden in the back of the dealers mini-van lot and I was shopping for the SS Supercharged Impala, but did not like the "INDY" stuff all over. The car is excellent, great fuel economy, with power, style, comfort, and a little attitude. I have found websites w/ all sorts of extras. I am very familiar with power and the Monte is OK, not blistering, but great highway acceleration. Great car.

Enjoyable - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Happy - July 1 - 1:40 amA fun and very enjoyable car for traveling distance trips and local. I have not had any problems with my Monte Carlo, nor any of my GM vehicles. It runs very quiet at all speed levels and is very durable in all conditions.
